Bye Bye Nu Nu

We are very proud of Garrett. We decided it was time for Garrett to get rid of the pacifier. He only uses it at night. At first he didn't even realize he didn't have it. We had a hard time getting him down to sleep but once he was out...he was out. Tim even had to get him up this morning!

Here's Garrett playing peek-a-boo. Our next big project will be getting rid of the bottle. He drank milk from a cup finally at school yesterday. This is a big event since he would only drink milk from a bottle. He'll drink water and juice from a real cup but not milk. We hope the trend will continue. I'd really like him off the bottle before baby Travis is born. But if not, we won't force the issue. He's still under 2 years old. He'll probably want a bottle again as soon as he sees one of us feeding baby Travis.

Garrett loves the school bus!

Garrett continues to grow up! We notice new words daily. It's amazing how he's starting to put things together. He loves school busses. He can spot one a mile away and start yelling "Bus...Right There". And then he'll say "Bye Bye Bus" as it goes by. It's really cute. Garrett is still the pickiest eater ever. His preschool teacher cooks them up some really great meals and he'll try what she makes and when we get home to eat more he won't touch it. Oh well, eventually he'll decide yummy things like Mac N Cheese, Tater tots and Chicken nuggets are yummy...right?

Garrett says...

Garrett is really starting to put together words. We play with his bristle blocks and he'll tell us "right there" on where we need to put them. It's really cute and funny! He also knows "all done" and "all gone". They sound the same but there's a difference. He says "bye bye Da Da" if Tim leaves to go somewhere and the list goes on and on. I can't believe how fast he's growing and how much he's learning at his preschool. Tim and I spent the Labor Day Weekend rearranging furniture and setting up Garrett's Big Boy Room. He's all settled in and seems to love it. I will post pictures of his room soon!

Garrett's new haircut!

Garrett got a new haircut last night. What a handsome little man!!! He still hates haircuts more than anything else. Tim made the comment we need to bring ear plugs for everyone next time! There was alot of screaming and squirming. The lady made sure she did a great job and everything was all evenly trimmed. Total transformation!!! At least Garrett only needs a haircut a few times a year!

Surviving the heat? We stay inside!

It's been awfully hot this year! I think we are up to 49 days over 100 degrees! We are doing our best to keep the yard alive but our water bill is pretty high. Garrett and I stay inside as much as possible these days...but I know Garrett hates it. He loves the outdoors. I can't wait until it cools off so we can go on our walks again!

Learning is fun!!!

Garrett is having fun at preschool and settling in just fine. This weekend, Tim and I are starting to set up Garrett's new bedroom. This will be a big project since that room had been our guest room and storage. Who knows what we are going to do with that furniture and all the stuff in the closet!!!

Garrett's World

Garrett started preschool July 9, 2008. It was pretty traumatic for both him and Tim and I. After a couple of weeks though, he's settled in just fine. He's trying new foods, learning new words and making new friends. His teacher is really nice and he seems to like her quite a bit. He even blows kisses "bye-bye" to her when I pick him up in the afternoon.

Now that the task of preschool is complete, we will start transitioning him to his big boy room in preparation of his little brother Travis's arrival in mid to late November!
